  • The West Texas Mile is a one-mile, straight-line racing event sanctioned by ECTA Motorsports. Drivers and riders from across the country compete for personal bests and record-setting speeds on the Colorado City Airport runway.

  • October 24–26, 2025, at the Colorado City Airport (T88) in Colorado City, Texas.

  • Yes! The event is open to the public. Tickets will be available for single-day or weekend passes. Children 12 and under are free with an adult.

  • Yes we offer a 50% military discount for spectator tickets for all active-duty service members—buy tickets here and use code MIL50 at checkout.

    You must present your active duty ID at the gate upon arrival for confirmation.

  • For the safety of all participants and spectators, weapons of any kind are strictly prohibited on the premises of the Colorado City Airport during the West Texas Mile. This includes firearms, knives, and any other items considered dangerous or hazardous. Security personnel will be present throughout the event to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone.

  • Expect food trucks, vendor booths, live music, historic flyovers, the Smoke & Thunder jet truck, and the 1K Bullet world record attempt. Check our Schedule page for a full event itinerary.

  • Absolutely! There's a dedicated kids' zone with safe activities, plus plenty of entertainment for all ages.

  • We recommend lawn chairs, sunscreen, hats, and ear protection (engines get LOUD). Outside food is not allowed. Coolers permitted with $20 cooler charge.

  • For safety reasons, ATVs and UTVs are not permitted for general spectators at the West Texas Mile.

    Allowed Users: Registered racers, pit crews, and event staff.

    Accessibility Exception: Guests with disabilities or mobility needs may request approval for UTV/ATV use at the front gate at no cost. These vehicles must be used strictly for mobility assistance and follow all posted safety rules.

    General Spectators: All other guests are encouraged to enjoy the event on foot. This helps us maintain a safe and pedestrian-friendly environment.

    We appreciate your cooperation in helping us keep the event safe and welcoming for everyone.

  • For safety reasons, pets are not recommended. Registered service animals are welcome.

  • Yes! Friday night is open for local "hometown runs." Official ECTA-sanctioned runs require pre-registration and tech inspection.

  • Yes, race fuel, methanol, E85, and other fuel types will be available for pre-order. Drivers may also request fuel in advance so our team can coordinate availability at the Colorado City Airport. We recommend all drivers arrive with their tanks topped off to avoid delays or limited onsite supply.

  • Yes, limited RV and camping spots are available by reservation. Check the Hotels page for details and nearby hotel options.

  • This is a rain-or-shine event, though racing may pause if track conditions are unsafe. Entertainment and vendors will remain open.
